The new Monte Rosa Hut is the most modern hut of it’s kind in the Alps or even in the whole world. It’s a hut with future orientated technology, design and use of energy.
To reach the on 2883 metre / 9226 ft. based hut it’s necessary to cross the Gorner glacier. Sometimes the conditions on the glacier require the use of crampons. As it’s a strenuous high alpine hike it’s highly recommended to allow yourself enough time for this trip with a night in the hut. Enjoy the sunset in the hut which is surrounded with the highest mountains in the Alps and of course the Matterhorn is right in front of you.
Good health, safe walking in not prepared terrain and good fitness (300m / 980ft. to walk per hour, including breaks), ability to walk for about 4 hours.
Meeting place is the Gornergrat station in Zermatt. From there with the world famous Gornergrat train up to Rotenboden. From there in about 4 hours over the Gorner glacier to the hut. Overnight stay in the Monte Rosa hut. On the following morning return to Rotenboden.
2 days qualified mountain guide / hiking guide. Accomedation in the hut is not included.
CHF 1’110.00 for 1 or 2 persons. For every additional person CHF 100.00 will be charged.

You need the following equipment for Monte Rosa Hut:
Rucksack 20 – 30 litre – Mountaineering boots* – Climbing seat harness* – Crampons with front points, adjusted* – Telescopepol – Touring trousers – Waterproof / breathable jacket with hood – Fleece jacket or jumper – Gloves – Shirt – Socks – Warm hat – Sunglasses with side protection – Sun screen factor >25 – Lip balm factor >15 – Flask or water bottle, about 1 Litre, no camel bag – Picnic for 2 days (for day 2 picnic can be bought in the hut) – Personal medication.
