Schwarzsee – Schoenbielhuette, approx. 3 hours.

Day 2:
Schoenbielhuette – Tête Blanche – Arolla, approx. 7 hours.

Day 3:
Arolla – Cab. des Vignettes, approx. 4 hours.

Day 4:
Cab. des Vignettes – Fenêtre de Durand – Glacier, approx. 5 hours. By taxi to Courmayeur.

Day 5:
Courmayeur – Helbronner – Vallée Blanche – Chamonix, approx. 3 hours. Return to Zermatt.

Journey from Zermatt to Argentiere – Argentiere hut via Les Grands Montets approx. 1½ hour.

Day 2:
Argentiere hut – Trient hut, approx. 6 hours.

Day 3:
Trient hut – Champex, approx. 2 hours. By taxi to Verbier. Mont Fort – Rosablanche – Prafleuri hut, approx. 5 hours.

Day 4:
Prafleuri hut – Arolla, approx. 5 hours.

Day 5:
Arolla – Bertolhütte, approx. 4 Std.

6. Tag:
Bertol hut – Tête Blanche – Zermatt, approx. 4 hours.

You need the following equipment for the Houte Route:

Rucksack 30 litre with ski fixing system – Strap to tie the ski tips together – Skis with touring bindings* – Touring boots* – Skins* – Ski crampons (Harscheisen)* – Ski poles and spare basket* – Lightweight shovel* – Probes* – Transceiver (Beeper)* – Harness* – 1 Locking carabineer* – 1 Normal carabineer* – Sling 120 cm, strengths >1000 kp / 10 kN* – Crampons with front points, adjusted* – Ice axe* – Head torch* – Touring trousers / salopettes – Waterproof / breathable jacket with hood – Fleece jacket or jumper – Gloves – Mittens – Thermal underwear – Shirt – Ski socks – Warm hat – Hat for the sun – Sunglasses with side protection – Goggles – Sun screen factor >25 – Lip balm factor >15 – Flask or water bottle, about 1 Litre, no camel bag – Snack – Personal medication – Euros and Swiss francs – Id or passport.
